Winning rider Michael Walker had to get down 53kg to ride Comin’ Through but was rewarded for has effort with the Fastnet Rock stallion responding to his urgings all of the way down the straight.

“He is a very good horse and he is the reason I got down to 53kg,” Walker said.

“He let the leader come back and actually head him and when he felt the horses on his outside and he kicked again.”

“Chris (Waller) has keep him fresh with three weeks in between runs and bring on the Epsom.”

Comin’ Through was sent out as the $2.30 favourite and had a head to spare over stablemate Tom Melbourne ($3.20) who tried hard over the final stages with Burning Passion ($5.50) holding on for a close third.

Comin’ Through has now stamped himself as one of the main fancied for the Group 1 $1m Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Randwick on September 30 after he made it two wins from two starts this Spring Carnival preparation.

Waller kept Comin’ Through fresh and have him four weeks to get over his first up win in a 1400m BenchMark 90 Handicap at Randwick on August 19.
