Finals Day at Flemington Racecourse features a bumper nine-race card including the $12,000 Listed Taj Ross Series Final (1600m) running as the fourth at 1:30pm (AEST).

The mile feature for juveniles has attracted a final field of 13 youngsters, many of which are eyeing a spring bid targeting the Group 1 Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas (1600m) this October.

Pre-nomination favourite in Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas betting at bookies around the country is the undefeated Domesday colt Royal Symphony.

After an over three length win at Pakenham on the synthetic track on debut in late May, the up-and-comer made it two from two with a four length success in a two-years-old handicap carrying 59kg to victory over 1400m at Flemington.

Royal Symphony returns to his home track on Saturday stepping up to a mile for the first time, again giving the weight away to his rivals with 59kg and Dwayne Dunn to ride from barrier two.

Runner-up to the early Caulfield Guineas favourite last start, the Leon & Troy Corstens-trained Whoomph is also engaged for the rematch this Saturday.

High Chaparral colt Whoomph is also looking to earn a 2017 Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas target during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

He was second best at Flemington on June 24 as a $31 roughie carrying 57kg and will relish coming back to 54.5kg getting a nice weight advantage over Royal Symphony this weekend.

Lindsay Park also saddle-up an in-form and well-weighted two-year-old in the Taj Rossi Series Final with Mulk (54.5kg) drawn in gate six with Cory Parish to ride.

After back-to-back seconds at Pakenham and Sandown-Lakeside in May and June, the David & Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained gelding Mulk broke his maiden status at his seventh career start on June 14.

He ran away at Sandown-Hillside over 1400m by three lengths with Damien Oliver aboard, form the son of dual Cox Plate winner Sepoy is out to repeat in black-type company on Saturday.

Sebring filly Lady Seabring with the outside barrier (13 of 13) and the rails-drawn Mick Price-trained All Too Hard filly Hard Ruler are the other last start winners in the mix.

Hard Ruler has had three runs and relished a step-up to a mile at Sale on June 18 to break her maiden status.

She was drawn gate one that day and gets the same inside barrier for Saturday where she looks well-positioned as one of the few proven over the distance.

Also drawn well with barrier three and Craig Newitt riding is the Chris Waller-trained Hinchinbrook filly Madame Moustache.

Already tested in stakes company when a close fourth on debut at Randwick in the Listed Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) last October, Madame Moustache is yet to win over further than 1000m.

She was seven lengths back 11th behind Houtzen in the Gold Coast’s $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic during the summer and her latest run produced a third over the Warwick Farm mile on a Heavy (9) track behind Heliosphere on June 12.
