Running as Race 8 at 4:50pm (AEDT), favourite at Ladbrokes.com.au in markets for the $200,000 Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) this autumn at $4.50 and firming is the Ron Quinton-trained Dixie Blossoms.

She has been well-supported despite the wide draw and her disappointing effort when unplaced in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at the track a fortnight back.

The four-year-old gets a chance to atone returning to the 1500m at Rosehill here from a similarly wide alley looking to return to the form that saw her blitz her rivals by over six lengths the start before on a Heavy (10) in the Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes (1400m).

Next best in the Emancipation Stakes odds at $4.60 is the stablemate Daysee Doom, a four-year-old daughter of Domesday who looks set to peak third-up on Saturday.

She has plenty of Rosehill winning form and also comes out of the Coolmore Classic when beaten just over a length finishing fourth on the light weight (51kg).

So can Quinton dominate the Emancipation Stakes 2017 results or does the value lie further down the markets in the likes of proven mudlark Zanbagh ($7.50) or the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Extensible ($7.50)?

#7 Daysee Doom ($4.60)

Happy to tip Quinton’s improver to handle the three kilo rise in weights (54kg) and win third-up. The four-year-old should be peaking after two very good runs at the track, especially the Coolmore Classic over this distance when only 1.2 lengths beaten four fourth. She was drawn right out that day and will get a better run on the weekend. She’s a dual winner at Rosehill from four starts and has plenty of form on Soft going. If she gets through the mud think she’s a genuine hope.

#5 Rocket Commander ($11)

Good double-figure price on offer for Matthew Dale’s last start Group 3 Wenona Girl Handicap (1200m) winner. She held on narrowly there to win on a Heavy (10) ahead of her first Rosehill run on the weekend. Has winning form up to a mile and she’ll be up on the speed this weekend from the barrier relishing another bottomless track.

#2 Dixie Blossoms ($4.50)

Lots of love for the firming favourite who could come out and bounce back from the Coomore classic run. She is an absolute mudlark and that works in her favour heading into this. She did all the work in the Group 1 from out wide and has a nasty gate to overcome again, but think she’s classy on this type of going.
