Running as Rosehill Race 8 at 4:50pm (AEDT) on Saturday as part of a cracking ten race program, this season’s $700,000 Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m) field features the full fourteen runners.

Sitting top of the latest The Galaxy odds online at Ladbrokes.com.au paying $5 for the win is the widely-drawn three-year-old Russian Revolution with the outside alley to overcome.

The last time a The Galaxy winner came from the outside barrier was Padstow (15 of 15) back in 2001, the Snitzel colt race for the first time since the close fourth to Flying Artie at Flemington in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m).

Prior to that he won his four career openers including a Group 2 at Randwick and he has enjoyed successive trial wins this season in Sydney ahead of The Galaxy run first-up.

The other best in The Galaxy betting include Challenge Stakes winning mare English ($6) jumping from barrier five, consistent Group 1 sprinter Fell Swoop ($7.50) with Hugh Bowman aboard and Music Magnate ($8.50) giving the weight away with 58kg.

Earlier we published a full The Galaxy 2017 Form Guide & Betting Preview with tips based on the race facts and stats uncovered detailed below.

1st

#6 Redzel ($8)

Jockey Kerrin McEvoy had the pick of the Team Snowden pair in this race and opted for the fresh favourite Russian Revolution even from the barrier. We’re leaning towards the stablemate at the juicier price and think Redzel, ridden by Dwayne Dunn in perhaps the only downside, shapes up as top value. He comes back four kilos to 54.5kg after carting 58.5kg for the brave second going down a nostril flare first-up in the Group 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) a fortnight ago. He’ll be fitter for the run and will eat-up the extra 100m here boasting an excellent record at the distance (8-4-1-1). Barrier 11 is one of the most successful in The Galaxy history and this horse is proven in the mud in another plus.

2nd

#7 Heatherly ($9.50)

Another horse out in a double-digit barrier shaping up as a danger is the Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra-trained Lonhro mare Heatherly. She comes over from Melbourne and loves the 1100m (4-2-0-1). Listed winner down the Flemington straight last time out off the brave sixth in the Group 1 Black Caviar when only two lengths beaten. She carted 59kg to victory last time out and is back to 54kg here. Mares have gone back-to-back in this, can Heatherly make it a hat-trick?

3rd

#8 Supido ($8)

Early market mover Supido has been backed in from $13 to $8 and is well-weighted with 53.5kg. Craig Williams rides chasing his second The Galaxy win in as many years and this horse is the right age out to be the fifth five-year-old in seven years to salute. Has a top Win Rate (55%) and Place Rate (82%), plus is two-from-two over the metres so is a must include.

Now is the ideal time to back your The Galaxy 2017 tips at the right autumn racing odds online at Ladbrokes.com.au who are matching the deposits of new players 100% up to $500 in bonus bets with use of the code BETBONUS (T&Cs apply / excluding NSW).
