Target In Sight has delivered Joe Pride a lucrative win on the Gold Coast this afternoon; charging home to win the Magic Millions Sprint (1200m).
Target In Sight remained prominent on the second line of Magic Millions Sprint betting leading up to jump, but jockey Brenton Avdulla elected to take a sit on the seven-year-old as Hidden Pearl and Didntcostalot set the early tempo.
Blocked for a run rounding onto the final straight, Avdulla remained patient aboard Target In Sight before finding a gap with 300m to run and pressing the button.
The son of Nadeem never appeared in doubt when he found the pace and extended to the line to comfortable beat Viddora and Murt The Flirt.
Target In Sight had not been seen at the races since the 2016 Brisbane Winter Carnival prior to the Magic Millions, but the horse appeared on track for a strong first-up showing via a number of handy trials in Sydney.
Viddora returned from a freshen-up to finish a close second behind Hidden Pearl in the Listed Falvelon Quality (1000m) on New Year’s Eve and had clearly taken plenty of benefit from the run in the Magic Millions Sprint this afternoon.
Drawn ideally in barrier 4, Murt The Flirt continued his impressive run of form at the Magic Millions in running on for a handy third.
Having finished fifth in the Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) in 2015, the Murtajill gelding ran on for fourth behind Lucky Hussler in the Magic Millions Cup in 2016.
Punters who placed their Magic Millions bets with Ladbrokes.com.au have taken advantage of the most lucrative odds available online, including the lucrative Enhanced Odds markets!
