2017 Magic Millions Day Scratchings & Track Report

2017 Magic Millions Day will take place at Gold Coast Racecourse today; boasting a talent-rich nine race card of horses seeking their share in $10 million in prize money.

It is a fine day in the greater Gold Coast metropolitan region today and after only 1.5mm of rain throughout the last seven days, the racing surface has been rated a ‘Good 4’.

The 2017 Magic Millions Day action will officially get underway with the running of the Magic Millions Maiden Plate (1200m) at 12:40 AEDT; culminating in the running of race 9, the Magic Millions Sprint (1200m) at 5:40pm.

The Magic Millions Maiden Plate has drawn a number of talented horses that are yet to post their first career win, including Dortmund and Mount Panorama.

Some of country racing’s best horses will be on show for the Magic Millions Country Cup (1200m) at 1:15pm, while the likes of Miss Cover Girl, Pepperano and Steel Zip will duke it out in the Magic Millions Open (1300m); race 3.

Stratum Star appears to be the horse to beat in the Magic Millions Trophy (2200m), while Egyptian Symbol, Kinsachi and Flippant have all been confirmed in the Magic Millions Fillies & Mares (1300m) field.

Reigning champion Lucky Hussler will attempt to defend his title in the Magic Millions Cup (1400m) at 3:35pm, before the day’s two feature races; the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) and Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) are run and won.
