The $150,000 Group 3 Festival Stakes (1500m) attracted 15 nominations on Monday including the progressive Snitzel four-year-old Sweet Redemption.

A winner of four of her 17 career starts to date in non-stakes’ company, the mare comes off back-to-back seconds.

After a win over the mile at Randwick on November 1 she travelled south to Sandown on November 12 and finished runner-up behind Silent Sedition in the Group 3 Summoned Stakes (1500m).

Her latest run on November 20 was in the Goulburn Cup (1600m) where she crossed second best behind the winner Circular.

The well-travelled Sweet Redemption has raced in all states around the country this year bar Western Australia and co-trainer Bott is confident she’s handled all the miles well.

“She’s very well-travelled and she just thrives wherever we take her,” he told AAP this week.

“We can put her anywhere and she’s tough.

“She’s had a couple of tough runs this time in but she still seems to be on fresh legs and a very happy horse at the moment.”

Saturday is her first look at the Rosehill track and if she performs well Bott confirmed plans to head back to Royal Randwick on December 17 for the $250,000 Group 2 Villiers Stakes (1600m).

Waterhouse & Bott are also hoping to snag a win in the $125,000 Listed ATC Cup (2000m) on Festival Stakes Day on the weekend with The Bull.

A four-year-old son of Lope De Vega, the galloper comes off a fourth over the track / distance from November 19 behind Multifacets in a Benchmark 78 and is part-owned by David Warner as well as Shaun and Mitch Marsh.

The ATC Cup will be the gelding’s maiden Black-Type start and Bott is happy with his progress this season.

“It was still a very honest effort last start,” he said.

“There’s no doubt in another preparation we’re still going to see a lot more from this horse so hopefully we can see a bit of that on Saturday.”

The Rosehill race fields for the weekend are set for release on Wednesday so stay tuned.
