Rosemont Stud Stakes Field & Barriers Released

A capacity group of fillies and mares will contest the Listed Rosemont Stud Stakes (1200m) at Geelong on Wednesday, following the completion and release of a field and barrier draw for the race this morning.

Godolphin will be offered several good chances of success in all black type races at Geelong on Wednesday including Painted Firetail, who has been included in 2016 Rosemont Stud Stakes field.

Posting two wins and as many minors through nine career starts so far, Painted Firetail returned to the paddock after failing to fire in the Group 3 PJ Bell Stakes (1200m) on April 2nd, but resuming this time for an impressive win in the TAB Rewards BM72 (1250m) on September 7th.

Having since placed fifth in the Belmader BM78 (1100m) on September 28th, the Lonhro mare has the notable advantage of James McDonald in the saddle but will require luck in transit from an awkward draw.

Jalan Jalan was luckless in transit in her last outing and has again drawn awkwardly into the 2016 Rosemont Stud Stakes field in barrier 14.

Finishing outside the minors only a few times through ten career starts so far, Jalan Jalan returned to racing this time for fifth in the Alfred Hospital BM90 (1100m) on September 24th, before her last start run for eighth in the Group 3 Cape Grim Beef Steaks (1200m) on Caulfield Guineas Day.

Jalan Jalan should have no issue performing with only 55kgs in tow and will be partnered by in-form hoop Luke Currie.

A Lotta Love ran on for third in the Cape Grim Beef Steaks last time out, but is interestingly another runner than has drawn into the Rosemont Stud Stakes field in an outside barrier (15).

The stable star for Mornington-based trainer Sam Pritchard-Gordon, A Lotta Love returned from a freshen-up for an impressive win in the Schweppes BM90 (1200m) at Caulfield on July 2nd.

Progressing to fifth in the Leilani Series Final (1400m) on July 9th, the daughter of Al Maher failed to handle the late pace when tenth in the Group 3 Cockram Stakes (1200m) but responded well for fourth in the Group 3 How Now Stakes (1200m) on September 17th.

Vibrant Rouge has drawn ideally into the Rosemont Stud Stakes field in barrier 3 and will be partnered by standout hoop Luke Nolen.

Vibrant Rouge was too sharp for a smart field in the Hockingstuart Plate (1400m) on August 27th and has since finished sixth in the How Now Stakes and third in the Group 2 Blazer Stakes (1400m).
