Set to run as Flemington Race 6 at 3:30pm (AEST), this year’s $200,000 Group 2 Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m) has attracted a dozen hopefuls with the current markets at Ladbrokes.com.au led by the Robert Smerdon-trained top weight Under The Louvre ($4.60).

The Stradbroke Handicap winner returned with a second over 1100m at Caulfield two weeks ago and even under the 59kg again on Saturday is tipped as the one to beat based on class alone.

His biggest danger following closely in the Bobbie Lewis Quality odds at $5 is returning New Zealand raider Xtravagant ($5), a dual Group 1 winning stallion who has Damien Oliver in the saddle first-up.

So will the order of odds pay out or is there an upset Bobbie Lewis Quality result pending from the likes of the Gerald Ryan-trained Kinglike ($5) who kicks off his four-year-old campaign or the early market mover Santa Ana Lane ($7) drawn the inside alley?

#10 Faatinah ($9.50)

At the price and under the 53kg minimum, first-up specialist Faatinah looks a big hope at juicy odds. The Lindsay Park-trained Nicconi four-year-old is yet to win at the track, but is undefeated first-up and is a Group 2 winner over the distance in Adelaide. His last run in the winter was a good fifth in the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) behind Saturday’s Makybe Diva Stakes favourite Black Heart Bart so has class. Consistent, fresh and well-weighted.

#1 Under The Louvre ($4.60)

Gives the weight away to his rivals, but as a consistent Group 1 winner over the distance this Excellent Art six-year-olds deserves the kilos. He was nice fresh last start under the same weight beaten only a quarter-length over 1100m and will relish the step back up to his pet distance of 1200m (14-6-2-4). Not sure exactly how much he enjoys the Flemington straight, but will be finishing in the money.

#9 Tivaci ($12)

Another good-value chance in an open and hard-to-predict race. Has barrier 11 of 12 but down the straight that shouldn’t be an issue. On the minimum 53kg and was last seen winning a Group 3 at the Sunshine Coast over a mile. First-up the 1200m will suit, he’s undefeated over the distance and has won at Flemington before. Up for the first time as a four-year-old, but if he’s come through the break well can surprise.
