Set to run as Eagle Farm Race 7 at 2:37pm (AEST), this year’s $100,000 Listed Wintergarden Stakes (1400m) has attracted a field of 15 youngsters.

Top Queensland hoop Damian Browne has the mount on Show A Heart colt Charnley River from gate eight with the up-and-comer coming off a top Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival campaign.

From five career runs the horse boasts three seconds including behind the Kiwi raider Sacred Elixir in the Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m) on June 11.

He did it tough from barrier 17 of 18 in that elite level clash and will relish the drop back in both class and distance as he looks to break his maiden status in the Listed feature.

The Sunshine Coast-based Kendrick has also accepted for a fellow son of Show A Heart, Bold Heart, who is running in Black-Type company for the first time.

He is out to atone for a last start seventh at the Gold Coast a fortnight back over 1200m when beaten under two lengths despite jumping from gate 13 of 14.

One of just two last start winners in the mix, the Peter & William Hulbert-trained Dane Shadow gelding Endless Days is seeking back-to-back victories after saluting over the track and distance in a Class 1 on June 11.

After a failed 10th of 10 runners behind Winning Rupert at Doomben in the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m) the run before, Endless Days relished the extra meters at the Gold Coast overcoming barrier 14 of 14 to post his second career win at start number seven.

He is drawn wide again for Saturday however out in barrier 13 with Brad Stewart retaining the ride.

Drawn the opposite end of the Wintergarden Stakes field in gate two is the Liam Birchley-trained Red Dazzler filly Balabina who ran second on May 28 over 1200m at the Gold Coast in her race debut.

A total of nine fillies take on the colts and geldings in Saturday’s race including the John Zielke-trained Group 3 Ken Russell Memorial winner Royal Tithe out to atone for a last start seventh in the Listed Lancaster Stakes (1200m) at the track and the Ciaron Maher-trained Emphatically.

A nicely-bred daughter of Not A Single Doubt, Emphatically has gate 14 to overcome this weekend with Nicholas Hall booked for the ride in place of Kerrin McEvoy who rode her for a last start fourth in Doomben’s Listed Hampden Stakes (1200m) on May 21.

Other notable hopes include the Chris Waller-trained Mossman colt Cellarman (3) from Sydney, Gai Waterhouse’s Fastnet Rock filly Irish Sea (11) coming off a Lancaster Stakes fifth and last start Sunshine Coast winner in the wet Aquajewel who has barrier one.
