Running as Robert Sangster Stakes Day Race 3 at 1:20pm (local), there are 10 youngsters in the mix for this year’s $100,000 Listed Seven News Queen Adelaide Stakes (1050m).

Four of the final acceptors are under double-figures in the latest Queen Adelaide Stakes odds Ladbrokes.com.au including the firm $2.45 favourite Tris.

Jumping from gate four with Matthew Neilson booked for the ride, the in-form David Hayes & Tom Dabernig-trained Street Boss filly shoots for her third win on the trot and second at the Morphettville track.

She comes off a tidy win in the Group 3 Breeders Stakes (1200m) from mid-April and looks the one to beat back at the course this weekend in easier company.

The next best in Queen Adelaide Stakes betting are the early market mover Sylpheed ($4.80) prepared by Gai Waterhouse who doesn’t bring just any horse to the interstate races, and the well-tried Moshki ($6.50) drawn a treat in barrier three who won the Listed Cinderella Stakes (1050m) at the track and distance two back.

So will the top fancied juveniles get the job done for the punters or is there value further down the markets tipping an upset Queen Adelaide Stakes result from the likes of the Ciaron Maher-trained Nadeem colt Victory Eight ($11) or his last start conqueror at Bendigo from a fortnight back Exilia Miss ($13)?

#5 Moshki ($6.50)

Think the Terry & Karina O’Sullivan-trained Moshe filly can return to winning form and replicate her all-the-way Cinderella Stakes win over the 1050m at Morphettville from two back this weekend. She backed up from that running fifth over the same track / distance behind Modern Wonder on April 23, but is out to atone. The speed will suit her better on Saturday, apprentice Emily Finnegan knows her well and think she’ll improve.

#10 Invisible Girl ($13)

Lloyd Kennewell trains this local I Am Invincible filly who debuts on Saturday from the inside alley. The nice barrier is a big advantage and there’s a bit of hype over Joe Bowditch’s mount. She hasn’t had an official trial, but the breeding alone suggests she can impress from day dot. Time will tell, but risking a Place bet on her first-up.

#4 Tris ($2.45)

Deserving favourite who is doing everything right. From a good stable that has plenty of success in Adelaide, comes off back-to-back wins and drops from 1200m when winning the Group 3 here on April 16. This looks like an easier assignment, but she could find the distance a little sharp.
