Set to run as Morphettville Race 5 at 2:40pm (local), this year’s $250,000 Group 2 Euclase Stakes (1200m) field is down to 14 runners after the early scratching of Tempt Me Not who runs in the $400,000 Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) on the card instead.

Sitting top of the updated Euclase Stakes betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au paying $4 for the win is the in-form Miss Gunpowder drawn a treat in barrier two.

Top South Australian jockey Dom Tourneur retains the ride on the local Phillip Stokes-trained Pendragon filly who comes off two seconds at the track this time in.

The latest of those saw her beaten only a neck by Robert Sangster Stakes second favourite Don’t Doubt Mamma in the Listed Redelva Stakes (1100m) a fortnight ago when carrying 58kg.

She drops to 55.5kg at set weights on Saturday and should be flying under those kilos from her good draw in a winnable race for her.

Following in the Euclase Stakes odds this Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival are Mick Price’s last start Sapphire Stakes runner-up in Sydney Secret Agenda ($4.50), VOBIS Gold Sprint runner-up Jalan Jalan ($7), Redleva Stakes third placed Super Cash ($7.50) for Caulfield’s Andrew Noblet and early market mover Almighty Girl ($11 into $8) who won the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley in February.

With so many livewire chances who should you back and who should you sack in your Euclase Stakes tips this weekend?

#9 Secret Agenda ($4.50)

Going with Not A Single Doubt filly Secret Agenda for Caulfield’s Mick Price who is no stranger to winning form in Adelaide on this day. She’s got a solid record over the distance (7-1-4-0), is Group 1 performed, a Group 3 winner during last year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival and was a solid second to Two Blue – subsequent runner-up in the Hawkesbury Crown – in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m) at Randwick last start in Sydney. Think that form can stack up here and she’s well-weighted (55.5kg), drawn midfield and has Craig Newitt aboard.

#11 Miss Gunpowder ($4)

Lots to like about the early favourite whose looking for her first win since the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) last September. This time in she has run second twice at Morphettville, including in the Redelva. That form is tipped to stack up in Saturday’s Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes with the winner Don’t Doubt Mamma one of the best in betting, and there’s no reason it can’t in this easier assignment as well.

#4 Demonstrate ($10)

Adding a bit of value is John O’Shea’s honest New Approach gelding who also comes off back-to-back seconds this time in. His latest was over 1300m at Sandown-Hillside on April 9, and he’ll relish getting back to 1200m (6-1-2-2). Has form around some nice types including a Group 3 third to Holler from Cox Plate Day last year and only needs luck from his outside barrier on Saturday to feature.
