This afternoon in Sydney the race all the punters are gearing up for is the Randwick Guineas 2016 for the state’s gun three-year-olds, and below is famous Two Word Form Guide on the classic.

Stay With Me

Due to jump at 4:10pm (AEDT) as Randwick Race 7 on the nine-race program, this season’s $1 million Group 1 Girvan Waugh Randwick Guineas (1600m) still features all 13 original acceptors facing off for the lucrative $600,000 first prize for connections.

Red hot favourite in the Randwick Guineas odds at in the red at $1.45 for the win is the Chris Waller-trained Press Statement.

The Hinchinbrook colt drew wide with gate 12, but that barrier has produced two of the past four Randwick Guineas winners with Mosheen (2012) and Dissident (2014).

He won the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes running away first-up and is now out to become the third horse in as many years to complete the double with a Randwick Guineas win next-up.

The only other runners considered by the bookies as any kind of chance from stopping Press Statement from securing his third Group 1 win over the mile are the David Hayes & Tom Dabernig-trained Thousand Guineas winning filly Stay With Me ($8) and Anthony Cummings’ lightly-raced Hobartville Stakes third placegetter Montaigne ($9.50).
