The mares’ only $150,000 Group 3 CHI-X Australia Wenona Girl Handicap (1200m) attracted a bumper 20 nominations this Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival including rising eight-year-old Cradle Me.

The veteran Easy Rocking mare is first-up having won back-to-back black type races at the track in December including the Listed Canterbury Classic (1200m) on Boxing Day.

She goes up from 55kg that day to 59kg for the weekend however.

The next heaviest weighted Wenona Girl Handicap nominations are I’ve Got The Looks (56.5kg) and Bring Me The Maid (56kg), who are the only other two mares above the 54kg minimum.

Peter & Paul Snowden prepare Choisir six-year-old I’ve Got The Looks who has been in top form against good company this time in.

She ran third on February 6 at Randwick to Amicus in the Group 2 Breeders’ Classic (1200m) before her third to First Seal last time out in the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) at Rosehill where she got in on 54kg.

Team Snowden also have their four-year-old daughter of Shamardal Artistry down to resume in the Wenona Girl Handicap, the mare having won three on the trot last time in over 1500m – 1600m.

Bring Me The Maid is first-up on Saturday, Peter Moody’s Sebring four-year-old after her first win since the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) in the wet in August of 2014.

Moody has also nominated for another daughter of Sebring, five-year-old Noela’s Choice who is out to break a winning drought going back to July last year.

Coming off a string of good runs earlier in the season is the Joe Pride-trained I Am Zelady, the four-year-old I Am Invincible mare most recently seen winning the Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Handicap (1300m) at the Gold Coast on January 9.

She has won a subsequent barrier trial at Warwick Farm defeating Group 1 winner Tiger Tees over 800m on February 22.

Along with the third-placed I’ve Got The Looks, the other best over the line in the Millie Fox Stakes on February 20 and nominated for Saturday’s rematch is fourth placegetter Press Report for Lee Curtis.

The Written Tycoon four-year-old was beaten just one and a half-lengths following a Breeders’ Classic second, the Group 1 performer yet to win from nine previous Randwick runs.

Rule The River also comes off good lead-up form in Sydney, Anthony Cummings’ Commands four-year-old a winner of four on the trot from November – December before her third to Howmuchdoyouloveme in early January at Gosford in the Listed Takeover Target Stakes (1200m).

Cummings has a total of three entries with Rule The River joined by the undefeated Flashing Speed and Hieroglyphics.

Other notable mares in the mix include Gold Coast Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Handicap runner-up Private Secretary who is a dual Randwick winner and the Kris Lees-trained Savoureux coming off a Group 3 Triscay Stakes (1200m) third at the track.
