2016 Gosford Cup Tips

The 2016 Gosford Cup is far from the strongest edition of the race and only six runners are set to contest the Listed event this afternoon, but there will still be a winner of the race and we are confident that we can find it.

Telepathic is currently a narrow favourite in the 2016 Gosford Cup betting market with Ladbrokes, but there has also been money for Destiny’s Kiss ($3.10 into $2.60), Kontiki Dane ($5 into $4.50) and Award Season.

Our team of horse racing experts have closely analysed all six runners in the Gosford Cup field and come up with the three horses that we are confident will fight out the finish.

1st

#5 Destiny’s Kiss ($2.60)

Destiny’s Kiss has not recorded a race win for over 18 months – a time in which he has had 15 race starts, but he finds himself in a very winnable race this afternoon. The Power Of Destiny gelding returned to the races with a more than competitive third in the December Handicap (1600m) at Royal Randwick on Boxing Day and he is sure to relish the step-up to 2100 metres. Add in the fact that he has produced the majority of his best performances on heavy tracks and he looks very well-placed in the Gosford Cup.

2nd

#2 Telepathic ($2.50)

Telepathic produced slightly flat efforts in the Villiers Stakes and the December Handicap, but before that she recorded an impressive victory at Rosehill Gardens on November 14 and the ATC Cup on November 28. There is a genuine concern that she has had enough this preparation, but at her best she is arguably the class horse in this field and she also has a very good record on rain-affected going.

3rd

#1 Pheidon ($13)

Pheidon has failed to fire in all three starts this preparation and he has not recorded a race win since May last year, but he is a horse that is always capable of a spike performance and it would not surprise if he returned to winning form here. You definitely don’t want to load up on the Alister Clark Stakes winner, but he is worth a small each-way bet.
