Nominations for this summer’s $125,000 Group 3 Belle Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) are extended until 11am (AEST) on Tuesday with a dozen current entries for the quality handicap on Gosford Cup Day.

Waller prepares three of the 12 original nominees including Shamardal four-year-old Sweet Fire who is set for her black-type debut and who has winning form up to 1800m.

She is joined by stablemates Holy Delusions, the now six-year-old running second at Gosford on debut back in November of 2012 in her only other runner at the track, and Exceed And Excel five-year-old Sense And Reason.

Also with multiple Belle Of The Turf nominees is Anthony Cummings who has entered four-year-old Like Xena and Mary Lou.

Fastnet Rock five-year-old May Lou has winning form up to 1850m and is out to improve on a credible last start fifth to fellow Friday nominee Ammirata when carrying 58kg over 1500m at Rosehill on December 19.

There are three last start winners in the mix including the highest-rated of the nominations, Pins seven-year-old Kaleidoscope.

Matthew Dale’s Canberra-based mare comes off a 1400m Rosehill win over Agent from December 19 and has won one of her six previous mile assignments over her 29-start career.

Also shooting for back-to-back wins if accepted into the Belle Of The Turf Stakes field this season are the aforementioned Joe Pride-trained Nadeem four-year-old Ammirata who has won two of her past three starts and Oratorio six-year-old Kellyville Flyer coming off a mile win at Warwick Farm from December 23 for Hawkesbury horseman Jason Attard.

Godolphin’s John O’Shea has nominated for Medaglia D’Oro four-year-old Algeria coming off back-to-back Randwick thirds including a brave quarter length effort behind Testashadow over 1400m on Boxing Day.

Also third last time out by a narrow margin at Randwick and nominated for the Belle Of The Turf is the Group 1 performed Tim Martin-trained Street Cry four-year-old Heavens Above who crossed a quarter length off Caped Crusader of a mile on December 12.
