Jumping as Wyong Race 6 at 4:30pm (AEST) this week’s $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1100m) attracted a final field of 10 two-year-olds led by Written Tycoon colt Capitalist.

On debut he won the Listed Breeders Plate (1000m) at Randwick on October 3 before a blistering four length trial win at Rosehill over 900m on December 8.

He returns to the races for the second time for the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic on Thursday and pays a short $1.35, backed in already from $1.45, through to remain undefeated.

His ultimate summer goal is the Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic over 1200m in Queensland on January 9 and in futures markets for that he is also the favourite at $3.

Following Capitalist, who jumps from an ideal barrier three draw this week with Blake Shinn in the saddle, for Thursday’s clash is just one other single figure hope with Niccolance at $5 for the win.

Drawn one wider in barrier four with apprentice hoop Koby Jennings retaining his association with the fellow Snowden-trained juvenile, Nicconi colt Niccolance ran second on debut at Randwick on December 5 behind Astern over 1000m.

The up-and-comer has since won a Kembla Grange hit-out by an imposing six lengths and looks spot on for his second career run against his better fancied stablemate at Wyong.

The next best in Wyong Magic Millions Classic betting this summer is Conchita ($10) out wide in gate 10 before the rest of the field are out at $21 or more to score the upset.

Prepared at Newcastle by Paul Perry the Uncle Mo filly is considered the best of the female youngsters in the race and comes off a one and three quarter length win on debut over Zafina at Randwick on October 10.

Best of the roughies according to the bookies are the Gai Waterhouse-trained Choisir colt Preferito ($21) who ran second in the Ballarat Magic Millions Clockwise Classic on November 21 and Brent Stanley’s Stryker filly Magical Milly ($21) whose only run to date was a fifth to Missrock in the Listed Debutant Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield back on October 10.
