Zelady’s Night Out firms in Magic Millions 2yo Classic betting

The Tony Gollan trained Zelady’s Night Out has firmed into a clear second favourite for the $2m Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 9 after another scintillating win at Doomben on the weekend.

Zelady’s Night Out repeated her debut all the way win with a two and a quarter lengths demolition of the her opposition in the Listed $100,000 The Groove Train Calaway Gal Stakes (1050m) at Doomben last Saturday to keep her record at two wins from two starts.

At her previous start the Myboycharlie filly simply ran her rivals ragged to record a four and a half lengths win in a 1050m two year old Handicap at Doomben on November 14.

Bookmakers at Ladbrokes.com.au reacted by tightening  Zalady’s Night Out price into $7.50 to be the second favourite behind the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Capitalist who heads the market order for the Magic Millions 2yo Classic at $3.

“She had a bit of belly on her today but she got the job done in style. I think that run will tighten her up a lot and she should have no trouble with the 1200 metres of the Magic Millions Classic,” Gollan said.

“She had a little break at Washpool Lodge and we left some improvement in her.”

Gollan will finalised Zelady’s Night Out final Magic Millions preparation in the coming days and might go straight in the $2m juvenile race without another run.

“We will sit back and have a good look at things. But we are in the great position of not having to rush her now she is definitely qualified for the Millions,” Gollan said.

“But she is the ideal two-year-old because she can jump well, take a position and then sprint in the straight”

If Gollan favours another lead up run for the Magic Millions 2yo Classic, he will run the brilliant filly in the Group 3 $150,000 B.J. McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at the Gold Coast on Boxing Day.

Premiership winning jockey Jim Byrne has been aboard Zelady’s Night Out for both her wins and expects further improvement from the brilliant filly.

“She will definitely tighten up from that run,” Byrne said.
