The 2015 Kingston Town Classic barrier draw has been completed and released; confirming alleys for all sixteen contestants in Saturday’s Group 1 feature race at Perth’s Ascot Racecourse.
Magic Artist has remain atop 2015 Kingston Town Classic betting since it was confirmed he would make the trip west, and the talented import could very well receive the run of the race after drawing barrier 1.
Beginning his racing career under the guidance of William Figge, Magic Artist posted several impressive results around the world in 2015 prior to arriving in Australia; highlighted by success in the Group 3 Premio Ambrosiano (2012m) and second in the Group 1 Premio Presidente della Repubblica (2012m) in Italy.
Debuting to Australian racing for fourth in the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) on Derby Day, the Iffraaj gelding repeated the dose when fourth in the Group 1 Emirates Stakes (1600m) last time and appears as though he is perfectly placed in the 2015 Kingston Town Classic.
Leading local Black Heart Bart is also positioned for success after his allocation of gate 3 in the 2015 Kingston Town Classic barrier draw.
Black Heart Bart returned to racing in exceptional form this year; winning each of the Listed Summer Scorcher (1000m), Listed Cyril Flower Stakes (1200m), Listed Pinjarra Classic (1300m) and Listed Bunbury Stakes (1400m) in succession.
Travelling interstate for fourth in the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) before failing to fire in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1350m), the Blackfriars gelding won each of the Listed Birthday Stakes (1200m), Group 3 Northerly Stakes (1420m) and Group 2 Lee Steere Stakes (1400m) upon resuming this time before placing fourth in the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) a fortnight ago.
Delicacy has also remained towards the top of betting to win Saturday’s feature race but will require plenty of luck in transit after her allocation of 16 in the Kingston Town Classic barrier draw.
Delicacy was undoubtedly Perth’s standout racehorse upon resuming this year; winning each of the Listed Ascot 1000 Guineas (1000m), Listed Natasha Stakes (2200m), Group 3 WA Oaks (2400m) and Group 2 WATC Derby (2400m) in succession.
Floated to South Australia, the Al Maher mare made a successful transition to the highest level when taking out the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) before repeating the dose in the Group 1 SA Derby (2500m) only one week later.
Resuming this time for third in the Lee Steere Stakes, Delicacy was caught wide for most of the Railway Stakes last time out and finished sixth.
Adam Durrant runners Tower Of Lonhro (barrier 4) and Real Love (barrier 7) have both fared well with inside alleys while popular east coast veteran Extra Zero should find a good position off pace from barrier 15 in the Kingston Town Classic.
