Real Love stamped herself as a horse to follow when she took out the Group 3 Queen’s Cup (2200m) at Ascot on December 6 and she claimed the Listed Western Australia St Leger Stakes (2100m) at the same venue on December 20 before she took out the Group 2 Perth Cup (2400m) on January 1.

The Desert King mare was spelling to the spelling paddock after she failed to fire in the Group 1 Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 14 and the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at the same venue on February 28, but she returned to the races with a tough victory in the Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes (1400m) at Ascot on October 31.

Oliver will also partner either Shining Knight or Slipstream in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot on Saturday and the talented jockey told Racing.com that he is thrilled to return to Perth for their feature race day.

“I’m really looking forward to it, looks like having a couple of rides for Bob Peters, whose team is really going well in the two main races,” Oliver said.

“It’s a great meeting and great to get back there for it.”

Oliver has ridden over 100 Group 1 winners during his outstanding career, but he is yet to taste success in the Railway Stakes after finishing third with Mansion House in 2007 and Colonial Spirit in 1992 and missing the placings Mutual Trust (9th behind Luckygray in 2013), Triple Honour (15th behind Gathering in 2010), Gold Salute (14th behind Sniper’s Bullet in 2009), Scenic Shot (fourth behind Belle Bizarre in 2006), Ellicorsam (fifth behind Modem in 2004), Emission (eighth behind Hardrada in 2003), Strategic Image (15th behind Old Fashion in 2002), Northerly (11th behind Old Comrade in 2001), Century Blazer (sixth behind Jacks Or Better in 1995), Credit Account (12th behind Zaparri in 1994).

He has previously tasted success in the Winterbottom Stakes after previously taking out the 2007 edition of the race with the talented Marasco.
