Jumbo Prince started his winter campaign with a victory in the Professor G McKellar Memorial Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on April 4 and he took out the Toowoomba Guineas (1625m) on May 2 before he finished a credible third behind Sadler’s Lake and Basic Trilogy in the Group 3 Rough Habit Plate (2000m) at Doomben on May 9.

The Outback Prince gelding tired late in the Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes (2020m) at Doomben on May 23, but he produced a strong staying effort to finish third behind Magicool and Werther in the Group 1 Queensland Derby (2200m) at Doomben on June 6.

Jumbo Prince returned to the races with a narrow win in the Suez Recylcing And Recovery Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on October 24 and he was far from disgraced when a close second behind Victory Hotel at Doomben on November 7.

Victory Hotel has also been included in the Recognition Stakes nominations and he is set to make his black-type debut in the Listed race.

The Hotel Grand gelding was sent to the Sunshine Coast stable of Trevor Miller after he recorded four wins from as many starts in Rockhampton earlier this year, but he failed to fire in the Mount Franklin Handicap (1615m) at Doomben on July 11.

Victory Hotel returned to the races at Doomben on November 7 and he upstaged the likes of Jumbo Prince, Choice Bro and Bewhatyouwannabe to score an upset victory.

One of the most interesting horses in the 2015 Recognition Stakes nominations is Shotover River, who has not been seen at the races since he was found to be lame after he won at Doomben on August 15.

Shotover River made a slow start to his racing career, but he stamped himself as a genuine stayer with victories in The Mater Foundation Handicap (2200m) at Doomben on July 18, the Stanton Mienert Account Handicap (2200m) at the same venue on August 1 and the All Cool Industries Handicap (2200m).

Traveston Girl is set to return to Brisbane racing in the Recognition Stakes and she will have the chance to record her first race win since she took out the Breakfast Creek Hotel Handicap (1200m) in dominant fashion as a two-year-old.

The Flying Spur mare returned to the races with a close third in the Vertica Capital Plate (1200m) at Doomben on October 17 and she finished a credible fifth behind Scarlet Billows in the Group 3 Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day!

Best Of The Best, Bewhatyouwannabe, Blue Lion, Skip Town and Tear Gas are some of the other notable horses in the 2015 Recognition Stakes nominations.
