Today, Thursday November 5, is the third day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival and Crown Oaks Day 2015 at Flemington Racecourse features a bumper nine-race program to enjoy a punt on.
Showers are predicted throughout the day in Melbourne with a top of 24 degrees and a 66% chance of light rain in the afternoon meaning the current Good (3) Flemington track rating could be downgraded.

Flemington racing for Ladies Day kicks off at 12:05pm (AEST) and continues through until race nine at 5:20pm (AEST).
The headline event on the program is of course the $1 million Group 1 VRC Crown Oaks (2500m) running as Flemington Race 8 at 4:40pm (AEST).
Eleven three-year-old fillies remain in contention after the scratching of the Clarry Conners-trained Ethereal Stakes winner Dawnie Perfect who has gone to the paddock after showing signs of swelling in her leg.
New favourite in Crown Oaks betting at Ladbrokes.com.au, who are offering Best Tote or SP + 20% across the full Flemington card today, is Jameka in from $4.50 to $3.60 on the back of her Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase (2040m) win on Cox Plate Day.
There are two other major support races on the program with the Group 3 Gucci Stakes (1100m) for the short-distance fillies running as Race 4 and the older mares facing off in Race 7 the Group 3 G.H. Mumm Stakes (1100m).

Lots of early scratchings from the day’s first Group race with a field of 14 remaining with Secret Agenda ($4.40) the firming favourite. She’s drawn a treat and now jumps from barrier three down the straight looking to go one better than her back-to-back seconds in Group 3 company over 1200m.

New favourite is market mover Brook Road ($5.50) out to atone for a luckless ninth in the Listed Alinghi Stakes (1100m) on Caulfield Cup Day.
