2015 G1X.Com.Au Stakes Odds & Betting Tips

Rounding out a massive 10-race program at Melbourne’s Moonee Valley Racecourse on Saturday for Cox Plate Day is the mares’ only G1X.Com.Au Stakes 2015, betting tips on the race formerly known as the Eliza Park International Stakes and Tesio Stakes detailed below.

A field of 13 mares take to the track in Moonee Valley Race 10 at 6:20pm (AEST) for the $150,000 Group 3 G1X.Com.Au Stakes (1600m), which runs one race after the classic 2015 Cox Plate.

Leading the G1X.Com.Au Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au, who will open Best Tote or SP + 20% markets on the entire Moonee Valley card on Saturday, are led by Azkadellia ($4.20) drawn wide in barrier 11 but still well liked for the win.

Ciaron Maher’s super-consistent four-year-old has won four of her seven starts to date including two of her three this time in, Saturday seeing her step up in class after a trio of non-black type starts.

Her latest run was a victory by over two lengths at Cranbourne over 1400m on October 11 and from the gate, in-form Geelong Cup winning jockey from Wednesday James McDonald will ride her quiet before a powerful late burst.

It’s an even betting affair for the last on the Cox Plate Day card with five other single figure hopes including the Chris Waller-trained Ballet Suite ($6) out to atone for an 11th over the mile in the Group 3 Angst Stakes back in Sydney last start and the 58kg equal top weight Atlantis Dream ($7.50) for Darren Weir.

So will the first three in betting be the first three across the line in the G1X.Com.Au Stakes this Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival or is there value to be found further down the markets from the likes of last weekend’s Group 3 Moonga Stakes third placed six-year-old Coronation Shallan ($9), recent Let’s Elope Stakes runner-up Precious Gem ($9) or even a market mover like No Tricks ($17) who is running for the first time since a seventh to Cox Plate hope The Cleaner in the Group 2 Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) in early September?

1st

#9 Manageress ($9)

Plenty of boxes ticked by the Colin & Cindy Alderson-trained Magnus four-year-old who runs at the Valley for the first time and only needs to handle the tight course to win. Two back she posted her third career victory over 2000m at Flemington by a tidy two lengths before stepping up in class on October 4 for her brave second in the Group 2 Blazer Stakes (1400m). She has had a little freshen-up and runs over a mile, which should be to her liking. Chris Parnham retains the ride and she’ll get the ideal run from barrier five making her hard to beat to the line late.

2nd

#12 Azkadellia ($4.20)

The deserving favourite who is in flying form and is proving a consistent type. McDonald factor in the saddle is a big pick and she is another who will be good late and a genuine winning chance for the punters as she steps up in class and shoots for her first win over 1600m.

3rd

#11 Zarzali ($10)

Value in James Cummings’ nicely-bred Hussonet mare who comes off a third in Randwick’s Group 3 Angst Stakes at this distance. She will be better for that run and boasts two thirds from two stars at the mile to date. Needs to handle the Melbourne way of racing but is a class type who ran fourth to Winx, now $6 second pick for the Cox Plate on Saturday, in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2200m) in the winter.

Now is the ideal time to sign-up with Ladbrokes.com.au quoting the code SPRINGBONUS to enjoy up to $700 in bonus bets as a first time depositing player as well as access to Best Tote or SP + 20% on the full Cox Plate Day program this weekend at Moonee Valley!
