Melbourne Cup-bound European raider Quest For More will carry top-weight in Wednesday’s Geelong Cup 2015 in Victoria as the Roger Charlton-trained galloper chases a start in the ‘race that stops a nation’.
The Teofilo six-year-old has his debut down under in this week’s $300,000 Group 3 Geelong Cup (2400m) after failing to gain a run in the $3 million Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) as the first emergency for last weekend’s major.
A winner of six of his 18 starts overseas, the gelding was last seen running a brave second behind Big Orange when carrying 61kg in the Group 2 Goodwood Cup (3219m) in late July.
He is top weight in Wednesday’s capacity Geelong Cup field, Sydney-based hoop Tommy Berry to ride Quest For More on 59kg from a wide barrier 16 (into 15) draw.

He goes up a kilo this week with Ben Melham retaining the ride, the import boasting winning form up to 2700m and set to appreciate barrier nine (into eight) after doing it tough from 14 of 15 in the Turnbull.
