Lumosty is one of twenty-one sprinters entered in the Caulfield Sprint and will be having her first race start since running third to Srikandi in the Group 1 $500,000 Sky Racing Tattersall’s Club Tiara (1400m) at the Gold Coast on June 20 during the Brisbane Winter Carnival.

At her previous start Lumosty was sent out the equal favourite for the Group 1 $2m AAMI Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) at Doomben on June 6 but could only manage to finish tenth to Srikandi again.

Smerdon has also nominated his talented filly Fontiton who has had one run back from a spell for an eighth to Buffering in the Group 1 $450,000 City Jeep Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley on October 2.

Lumosty and Fontiton are also nominated for the Listed $120,000 Crown Golden Ale Alinghi Stakes (1100m) for the fillies and mares.

Leading Caulfield trainer Peter Moody has three in the nomination’s list for the Caulfield Sprint, Group 1 winners Flamberge and Moment Of Change and the highly promising three year old Kinglike.

Flamberge has had two runs back since winning the Group 1 $500,000 Darley Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville on May 16.

The Exceed And Excel six year old ran second first up to Chautauqua in the Group 2 $200,000 Mitty’s McEwen Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley on September 5 followed by a sixth to Buffering in the Moir Stakes.

While Moment Of Change hasn’t been to the races since running third to Shamal Wind in the Listed $120,000 W.J. Adams Stakes (1000m) at Sandown on January 26.

The lightly raced Kinglike scored a very impressive win over Raphael’s Cat and Ready For Victory in the Group 2 $200,000 Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on September 12 but looks likely to run against his own age at Caulfield on Wednesday after drawing barrier one in the Listed $350,000 Catanach’s Jewellers Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m).

John O’Shea also has three Godolphin owned sprinters entered with three years Furnaces, Haptic and Knoydart.

Knoydart has had one run back from a spell for third to Chautauqua in the Group 2 $200,000 Gilgai Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on October 4, Furnaces also is fitter for one back for a third in the McEven while Haptic is an acceptor for the Blue Sapphire Stakes on Wednesday.

Warwick Farm trainer Joe Pride has nominated Ball Of Muscle and Tiger Tees, Team Hawkes have entered Headwater and David Hayes and Tom Dabernig have Afleet Esprit and Miss Promiscuity.
