Stay With Me Leads 2015 Thousand Guineas Prelude Nominations
Lindsay Park’s early favourite to win next month’s Thousand Guineas Stay With Me is the headline nomination for the Thousand Guineas Prelude 2015 running at Caulfield Racecourse this Saturday.

One of four Group races on the Underwood Stakes Day program in Melbourne, this year’s edition of the $200,000 Group 2 Schweppes Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m) has attracted 18 three-year-old fillies.
Leading the early entries as well as the futures markets at Ladbrokes.com.au for the $500,000 Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) back at Caulfield on October 10 is the David Hayes & Tom Dabernig-trained Stay With Me.
She’s a $4.80 hope in the all-in Thousand Guineas odds and comes off back-to-back wins this preparation, the daughter of Street Cry last seen winning the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on September 5.
Also coming in the Thousand Guineas Prelude off a run in that same lead-up are the likes of the Peter Moody-trained runner-up Pasadena Girl and third placed Jameka for local trainer Ciaron Maher.
Pasadena Girl is the $5.50 second pick for the Thousand Guineas over the Caulfield mile, the talented daughter of Savabeel having won three of her five starts to date including the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) in Sydney back in April.
Jameka meanwhile won the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at Flemington in mid-March before returning in the Atlantic Jewel when beaten 2.25 lengths from a wide barrier 12 of 14 draw first-up.
She is currently at a more generous $21 to win the Thousand Guineas, the Prelude producing last year’s Thousand Guineas winner Amicus (2014) for Chris Waller after she ran second in the Group 2 in the lead-up to the Caulfield Guineas Day feature.
Along with Stay With Me there are three other last start winning fillies nominated for Saturday’s Prelude with Reward For Effort filly Effortless Miss, Adelaide raider Miss Gunpowder for Phillip Stokes and the undefeated Michael Moroney-trained Alaskan Rose.
A daughter of Encosta De Lago, Alaskan Rose has won both her career starts to date including defeating Giulietta last time out in a Benchmark 78 over 1400m at Caulfield at the end of August, the same track and distance she gets this weekend.
Paying $8, Alaskan Rose is third favourite for the Thousand Guineas with the last of the single figure fancies being Don’t Doubt Mamma ($9) for Robbie Griffiths.
Not A Single Doubt filly Don’t Doubt Mamma was fourth in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield in mid-August and fifth in the Atlantic Jewel but is tipped to handle the extra metres this weekend and in the Group 1.
Other notable Thousand Guineas Prelude nominees this season include the Toby Edmonds-trained Group 1 JJ Atkins runner-up to Caulfield Guineas favourite Press Statement in the winter Sagaronne, local Foreplay filly Jalan Jalan last seen running second in the Quezette Stakes on the back of a win down the Flemington straight and Robert Smerdon’s stakes winning daughter of Snippetson My Poppette.
