Ken Keys’ Caulfield Guineas runner-up from last Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, Rich Enuff is installed as the clear favourite in Bobbie Lewis Quality 2015 betting for his second-up run this weekend at Flemington.
Running as Flemington Race 6 at 3:25pm (AEST) on the Makybe Diva Stakes Day program on Saturday, this year’s $200,000 Group 2 Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m) features a final field of 13 hopefuls.
Leading the latest Bobbie Lewis Quality odds at Ladbrokes.com.au at a current quote of $3 is Written Tycoon stallion Rich Enuff, the four-year-old coming off a first-up second behind classy mare Bounding in the Group 3 The Heath 1100m (1100m) from Memsie Stakes Day.
Drawn nicely in barrier three, Rich Enuff has Damien Oliver taking over from Dwayne Dunn and will appreciate getting back up to 1200m – a distance he’s won two of his past three starts over.
The next best in Bobbie Lewis Quality betting for Saturday at $6 is Lucky Hussler jumping from gate two with Glen Boss in the saddle, the Darren Weir-trained Husson six-year-old’s last win being the Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley in late March.
The other single figure hopes for the win are the Robert Smerdon-trained The Goodwood third placed stallion Under The Louvre ($9) last seen running fifth in The Heath, Team Hawkes’ returning Fastnet Rock four-year-old Kapernick ($9) and the in-form Churchill Dancer ($9.50) for David Hayes & Tom Dabernig.
Churchill Downs five-year-old Churchill Dancer has won two of his past three starts, the latest being by an easy four and three quarter lengths at Moonee Valley over 1200m on August 22.
He has also had five previous runs over the track and distance of Saturday’s race for three wins and is drawn midfield in barrier seven with apprentice Michael Dee in the saddle.
Outside of those under $10 are plenty of other livewire chances including Ken Sweeney’s in-form Adelaide visitor Riziz ($13) who has won his past two on the trot including the Listed Penny Edition Stakes (1400m) over Rich Enuff, Hayes & Dabernig’s Robert Sangster Stakes runner-up Gregers ($13) and the returning Archie Alexander-trained Amorino ($14).
Last seen winning three of his past four starts including the Listed Anniversary Vase (1400m) at Caulfield on August 18, Snitzel six-year-old Amorino has a strong Flemington record of two wins and a third from four starts he’ll be looking to add to on Saturday.
Also in the mix at similar odds are Group 1 performed Choisir stallion Worthy Cause ($15) from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and the third runner for Lindsay Park – Hong Kong import Sterling City ($19) on the rails for his Australian race debut.
