Running as Randwick Race 2 at 1:15pm (AEST), this year’s $125,000 Group 3 Toy Show Quality (1300m) field features nine hopefuls.

The latest Toy Show Quality odds at Ladbrokes.com.au are led by the Gai Waterhouse-trained Echo Gal ($3.70) who is drawn a treat in gate four and who comes off a win at the track over 1200m from August 8.

Hot on her heels in Toy Show Quality betting are the likes of Chris Waller’s market mover Amicus ($4.60) who always runs well fresh and should do so again here, and the fellow Waller-trained Wine Tales ($4.80) second-up off a Randwick third from the start of the month.

With a host of other livewire chances at nice prices for the win including the Kristen Buchanan-trained Two Blue ($6.50) on the rails though there is a chance of an upset Toy Show Quality result this Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.

#6 Wine Tales ($4.80)

Tale Of The Cat four-year-old was impressive first-up when third to fellow Toy Show hopeful Echo Gal on August 8 and she’ll improve off that with a good second-up record (3-1-2-0). Her Randwick record is also strong (4-0-2-1) and she’ll be chasing a maiden win at the track here. She’s got the outside alley (nine) but with 1300m there is time to overcome. Also has the Waller factor and with the speed on this weekend she’ll be chasing them down late with every chance to get to the line first and win for the first time since October last year over 1350m.

#3 Kristy Lee ($7.50)

Another Waller runner, this in-form daughter of Encosta De Lago is a six-year-old with 44 starts on her record so has the experience. In flying form this season with a host of top three runs including behind Peeping at Rosehill over 1200m only last Saturday. She’s up in distance but has an okay record over the 1300m (8-0-2-2) and just needs to handle the short turnaround. Drawn to do that in barrier two with Tye Angland retaining the ride.

#7 Echo Gal ($3.70)

Race favourite had everything go her way for the lead-up win at the track at the start of the month. She’ll have to work a little harder this time, but beat home Wine Tales by over three lengths and is drawn well in gate four for the rematch. There will be a few going up with her this time, but with class and fitness on her side she could hold them off with the right ride from Tim Clark.
