The six-year-old daughter of Redoute’s Choice is one of 11 sprinters entered for the $125,000 Group 2 Show County Quality (1200m), nominations for the quality handicap extended until Tuesday morning.

Winner of the 2013 Australian Oaks, but nothing since, Royal Descent is also one of nine Waller-trained horses nominated for the Group 2 Warwick Stakes (1400m) on the Sydney race card this weekend.

While it has been a long time between drinks for Royal Descent, she has been super competitive in elite level races over the past couple of seasons including in Sydney during the autumn where she ran third in both the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) and the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick in April.

She has trialled twice since including a win over 1030m at Rosehill on August 4 where she beat home stablemates Beaten Up and Preferment.

Waller’s other Show County Quality nominee this spring is six-year-old Testa Rossa gelding Heart Testa who won the Group 3 Southern Cross Stakes (1200m) at Randwick in mid-February, but who ran a below par 11th last time out on April 18 in the Group 3 Hall Mark Stakes (1200m).

Also resuming racing if accepted is 2014 SA Derby third placed Savabeel gelding Best Case who won over 1800m at Rosehill last start in November last year.

A host of smart hopes meanwhile come into the Show County Quality race fit off some nice lead-up form including the Ron Quinton-trained Boss Lane who has won his past two on the trot.

The Dubawi gelding saluted first-up at Canterbury over 1250m before a last start win carrying 61kg to victory in a BenchMark 85 over 1000m at Randwick on August 8 ahead of the rise in class for the Show County.

Other in-form hopes include the Gai Waterhouse-trained Countryman, Homuchdoyouloveme and Kristen Buchanan’s seven-year-old mare Two Blue.

Royal Academy five-year-old Countryman has run top two in his three most recent starts including behind Centre Pivot in the Spring Preview over 1400m at Rosehill only last Saturday.

Con Karakatsanis’s Written Tycoon gelding Howmuchdoyouloveme also ran second at Rosehill last weekend, the seven-year-old beaten only a neck by the odds-on favourite Peeping over 1200m.

Two Blue meanwhile comes off back-to-back black-type seconds at Rosehill, the Dubleo mare having finished a neck behind Haussmann in the Listed Civic Stakes (1350m) on July 4 and then a nose off Rugged Cross in the Listed Winter Stakes (1400m) at fortnight later.
