2015 San Domenico Stakes Odds Update

This afternoon in Sydney the feature race on the program is the San Domenico Stakes 2015 for three-year-olds where the Gai Waterhouse-trained favourite Vancouver is drifting in his price to win first-up and remain unbeaten.

A winner of all four of his starts to date including the Golden Slipper Stakes last time out, the very valuable Medaglia D’Oro colt is dominating betting at Ladbrokes.com.au for the $125,000 Group 3 Smithfield RSL Club San Domenico Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens.

He is at an easing price however to kick off a Sydney / Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival campaign with a victory, Tommy Berry’s mount out from $2.30 to $2.60 to salute from gate seven of eight with 60kg under the set weights plus penalties conditions of the race.

There are then two $4.80 equal second picks in the San Domenico Stakes odds with the Chris Waller-trained market mover Japonisme ($5.50 into $4.80) and Redzel ($4.60 out to $4.80) for Team Snowden.

Choisir gelding Japonisme shoots for four straight wins this time in, his latest being an impressive four length victory over 1100m at Rosehill a fortnight ago that earned him his black-type debut this weekend in better company.

Redzel meanwhile is first-up in the San Domenico, the $1 million Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) hope for September 12 last seen running third to Furnaces in the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) in the mud at Rosehill from April 6.

The son of Snitzel comes off a nice 3.3 length winning trial over 735m from July 31 and beat home Japonisme on debut last March at Warwick Farm proving he’s got good potential to come back and win more quality races this season.

Also at single figures are then the John O’Shea-trained son of Exceed And Excel Haptic who failed when 12th in the Golden Slipper last start and Gerald Ryan’s last start Warwick Farm winning Redoute’s Choice colt King’s Troop both paying $8 and drawn beside each other in barriers three and four respectively.
