Nominations for the weight-for-age $120,000 Group 3 David Coles AM Spring Stakes (1200m) have been extended until 10am (AEST) on Tuesday with 15 current entries for showdown.

The highest-rated Spring Stakes nominee this season is Good Journey eight-year-old Happy Trails who was last seen running a mid-field seventh to Criterion in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April 11.

He has a good record at Morphettville with two wins and three seconds from eight runs at the track and has won over $3 million in prize money.

His latest win was in November last year at Flemington in the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) where Happy Trails posted his third elite level victory after previously taking out the 2013 Turnbull Stakes at the same track and distance and the Emirates Stakes in November of 2012 over the mile.

Beshara has also nominated for Richie’s Vibe who ran fifth in all three of his runs last campaign, most recently at Morphettville on March 9 in the Listed Matrice Stakes (1200m) behind Runway Star.

Runner-up in that same Adelaide stakes race was the Ken Sweeney-trained local Riziz who went on to finish second in both the Listed Oakbank Stakes (1100m) and the Group 3 RN Irwin Stakes (1100m) in April.

The Zariz seven-year-old’s two subsequent runs after that string of places however have been disappointing when 16th of 17 runners in the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) in mid-May and ninth to Miss Promiscuity in Caulfield’s Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) on July 4.

Three last start winners are also nominated for the Aurie’s Star Handicap on Saturday including the Richard Jolly-trained Alcohol.

The Bianconi seven-year-old comes off a Moonee Valley win over the mile from June 20 and has solid form at Morphettville (10-2-2-0) as well as a previous win at the track and distance.

Also coming off wins are known wet-track performer Red Eclipse and Whitlam who beat home Nearest To Pin by a length over 1100m at Morphettville on July 25.

Leon Macdonald & Andrew Gluyas also have dual nominees in the feature with Daytona Grey whose latest win was at Gawler last month on a Heavy (9) and returning four-year-old Bernardini mare Go Indy Go.

Go Indy Go has won two of her nine career starts to date and has excellent form in Melbourne from last spring.

Her most recent start was November last year at Flemington during the Melbourne Cup Carnival when she crossed seventh to Set Square in the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m) on the back of a Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase (2040m) third on Cox Plate Day.

There are three other mares nominated including Nadeem Lass who is also in the mix for the Group 3 Aurie’s Star Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on Saturday in Melbourne.

Four-year-old Trupt is another female nominated to take on the boys in the Morphettville race, the daughter of Krupt last seen running third to Wild Rain at the track in the Listed Lightning Stakes (1050m) on July 25.

Other notable Spring Stakes entries include the Phillip Stokes-trained Dylanson who won the Listed City Of Adelaide Stakes (1400m) in April before a last start fourth behind The Bowler in the Group 3 RA Lee Stakes (1600m) in mid-May and the consistent Peter Moody-trained veteran Justify That.
