While the galloper’s Cranbourne-based trainer Ken Keys was originally looking at a first-up run in the $400,000 Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) on August 29, he has since opted to give the Written Tycoon colt an easier resuming run.

Having missed the autumn due to a ligament injury, the rising four-year-old will begin his next preparation in the $150,000 Group 3 The Heath 1100 (1100m) before heading towards an elite level target.

“We’re planning on giving him his first trial on 10 August (at Cranbourne), with the idea of starting his preparation at Caulfield on 29 August in The Heath Stakes,” Keys told Racing Victoria.

“He is all the things you want to hear; looks well, is feeling well and working well. He’s 60 kilos heavier and has come on like I hoped he would.”

Following his return the horse will return to Caulfield on September 26 for the $400,000 Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m), his first Group 1 run since finishing midfield when seventh to the now retired Brazen Beau in the Coolmore Stud Stakes last November.

“The aim for now is the Sir Rupert Clarke at the end of September, but his path will really be determined depending on his first-up run,” Keys said.

“We’ve got Damien Oliver engaged to ride him and we’ll just see how he goes with each race and go from there.”

Prior to the Coolmore run Rich Enuff displayed enormous potential during his three-year-old season winning three black-types on the trot in Melbourne including the Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington and the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m).

From there he went on to contest the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) over the mile and was far from disgraced when running a quarter length away second to Shooting To Win in the classic.

Keys also confirmed the spring cups campaign of 2015 Melbourne Cup-bound Like A Carousel and Bring Something who will run in the provincial features including the Bendigo Cup before a possible Caulfield Cup run on October 17.
