Nineteen Included in 2015 Tattersall’s Cup Nominations

A talented list of nineteen stayers have been included in nominations for Saturday’s Group 3 Tattersall’s Cup (2400m) on the Gold Coast, highlighted by the pending appearance of some of the Brisbane Winter Carnival’s standout performers.

Jetset Lad posted undoubtedly his best victory to date on Stradbroke Day at Doomben a fortnight ago and has been included in 2015 Tattersall’s Cup nominations.

Claiming eight wins and a further 14 minors through 58 career starts, Jetset Lad ran a credible fourth in the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes (1400m) early in his 2014 spring preparation but failed to make anything of an impact in his next two Sydney starts, which included an appearance in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m).

Having run eighth in the Listed Members’ Handicap (1600m) and third in the Group 3 Premier’s Cup (2020m) through the Brisbane Winter Carnival, the Elusive City gelding locked in a fierce sprint battle with Sense Of Occasion and Epingle in the dying stages of the Group 2 Brisbane Cup (2200m) a fortnight ago and managed to win by the bob of a head.

Epingle has posted several commendable results of her own this time and will likely contest her preparation swansong on Saturday after being included in 2015 Tattersall’s Cup nominations.

Securing six wins and a further 15 minors through 36 career starts, the Pins mare beat only one runner home in the Group 3 Schweppervescence Trophy (1600m) first-up but responded in the best way possible when taking out the Group 3 Chairman’s Handicap (2200m) on the Gold Coast on April 25th.

Having finished third in each of the Group 2 Eagle Farm Cup (2200m) and Brisbane Cup most recently, Epingle is sure to lay a great account for herself in the 2015 Tattersall’s Cup.

Faust carries winning black type form into the 2015 Tattersall’s Cup and will be very hard to beat, particularly if allocated a favourable barrier.

The winner of the Listed Canberra Cup (2000m) on March 8th, Faust finished seventh in each of the Group 3 NE Manion Cup (2400m) and Listed Albury Gold Cup (2000m) in his next two starts.

Having since run second in the Listed Wagga Wagga Gold Cup (2000m) and won the Premier’s Cup at Doomben, Faust will undoubtedly have to step-up a gear if to overcome a field in the 2015 Tattersall’s Tiara likely to include Shoreham.

Posting several impressive results as the stable star for Flemington trainer Saab Hasan, Shoreham will contest his first competitive start for Gerald Ryan in the 2015 Tattersall’s Cup and should have taken benefit from a brief freshen-up.

The 2015 Tattersall’s Tiara Cup final field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday.
