Nominations for all of this weekend’s Doomben 10,000 Day support races are now out including a bumper 21 juveniles entered for the $250,000 Group 2 Mitavite Australia BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m).

There are 11 fillies nominated to take on the boys in the set weights feature, which is one of the traditional lead-ups to the $600,000 Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m) back at Doomben on Stradbroke Handicap Day, June 6.

The favourite of the female youngsters is sure to be Birchely’s daughter of Myboycharlie has had four starts for a trio of wins and a second to date.

Her latest start was on May 9 at Doomben in the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m) where Larry Cassidy guided her to a good half-length victory over the boys from a wide barrier 10 of 15 draw.

The horses that ran second and third in the Champagne Classic are also nominated to take Blueberry Hill on again this weekend over the extra distance with the Chris Munce-trained Wicked Intent (2nd) and stablemate to the winning filly Pepperano (3rd).

Last seen in the winner’s stall back in mid-December last year, Wicked Style colt Wicked Intent resumed racing in the Champagne Classic when runner-up after also jumping from out wide (12).

He has won his only other second-up start to date and should be improving this weekend on what he did last time out.

Court Command filly Pepperano meanwhile won at the Sunshine Coat over 1000m on April 26 before she finished third when beaten 1.4 lengths by her winning stablemate in the Champagne Classic.

Birchely has a total of three BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes nominees with the third being maiden Rothesay gelding Havasay, as yet untested in Group company.

Along with Blueberry Hill the other last start winners nominated for Saturday’s Group 2 are the Nick Olive-trained Sebring gelding Bring A Secret coming off a 1250m win at Canterbury from May 13, Barry Baldwin’s Casino Prince filly Princess Charm and Typing for the Sunshine Coast’s Stuart Kendrick who won the Listed Dalrello Stakes (1200m) at Toowoomba on May 2.

The other best Dalrello Stakes graduate nominated for Saturday is the Rex Lipp-trained colt In His Stride who ran second on the back of a 1200m Doomben win from late April.

The best of the interstate raiders meanwhile looks to be the Chris Waller-trained Redoute’s Choice colt Counterattack who won at Warwick Farm two back before a fourth in the Champagne Classic.

Other notable BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes nominees include Richard Laming’s recent black type runner-up in Caulfield Payroll and the Clarry Conners-trained I Am Invincible filly Look To the Stars.
