Is yet to finish outside the first three through his short career so far, and made a positive transition to the Queensland way of going when boxing on for a credible second behind classy local Jumbo Prince in the Toowoomba Guineas (1625m) a fortnight ago.

Confident she has found the key to success with the son of Flying Spur, Waterhouse told Racing Ahead she is thrilled with Skylimit’s condition leading into the 2015 Sunshine Coast Guineas and rates him as ‘The one to beat’.

“He’s a very, very good colt,” Waterhouse said.

“I sent him to Queensland for the three Guineas’.

“He ran second at Toowoomba and there was a massive space between the first and second horses and he’s come on in leaps and bounds.

“Always a very lazy horse, laid back and unless you really pushed him he wouldn’t do what you wanted him to do on the training track but he’s switched on in Queensland in a massive way.

“He’s the horse to beat tomorrow.”

Waterhouse has set Skylimit for the 2015 Group 2 Queensland Guineas (1600m) at Doomben on June 6th, but revealed he will return to racing for a campaign through the 2015 Spring Racing Carnival.

“He’ll have one more run and that’s in the Guineas at Doomben in two weeks’ time,” she added.

“Then he’ll spell there in Queensland and come down to Melbourne.”

Beating a handy field to the line in the Schweppes Maiden Plate (1200m) on debut in December, Skylimit returned this time for third the a Warwick Farm minor over 1200m, in what was his only other start prior to the Toowoomba Guineas.

Allocated the ideal barrier 6, Skylimit has been confirmed to be partnered by notable Queensland-based jockey Tegan Harrison in the Sunshine Coast Guineas. is currently offering the best 2015 Sunshine Coast Guineas odds, for which Skylimit can be taken at a generous quote of $10 for success.
