2015 Doomben Cup Day Scratchings & Track Report

The Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival gets into full swing today, May 9, at Doomben Racecourse for Doomben Cup Day 2015 featuring a cracking nine-race program.

After the flooding and heavy rain of last Friday night that would have seen a washout in Brisbane, it is sunny skies and zero chance of precipitation at Doomben this afternoon making for a perfect day’s racing.

As of 7:30am (AEST) this morning the course proper at Doomben was rated a Soft (5), a possible upgrade on the cards as the track continues to dry out as the day proceeds.

Doomben Track Report – 09/05/2015

  • Rail: True Entire Course
  • Penetrometer: 5.8
  • Track Rating: Soft (5)
  • Weather: Fine
  • Track Type: Turf

Racing kicks off for the major Queensland meeting at 11:40am (AEST) and continues through until the last at 4:42pm (AEST).

There’s a double shot of Group 1 racing to enjoy as well as a host of exciting support acts.

The two big ones to get in on at the bookies run as Race 7 (3:27pm) and Race 8 (4:07pm) with the $650,000 Group 1 Doomben Cup (2000m) for the stayers and the $500,000 Group 1 BTC Cup (1200m).

The big Ladbrokes.com.au offer of the day is on the BTC Cup – a Bonus Bet if your first fixed odds win bet runs 2nd or 3rd this afternoon!
