Bring Me The Maid Capable of BTC Cup Success

Three-year-old filly Bring Me The Maid has been confirmed amongst a particularly talented field of 16 for Saturday’s featured Group 1 BTC Cup (1200m) at Doomben but trainer Peter Moody is confident she is more than capable of a successful performance.

Bring Me The Maid stamped her claims as a serious racehorse upon debuting to competition during the 2014 Autumn Carnival; winning each of the Listed Sports 1000 (1000m) and Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) and running a credible third in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) most notably.

Having returned this time for a close second to Delectation in the Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint (1100m) on Day 2 of The Championships, Moody told Racing Ahead he is pleased with the condition of the daughter of Sebring and is confident she is capable of figuring in the 2015 BTC Cup with a little luck in transit.

“She’s done well,” Moody said.

“She’s pleased is in the first-up run at Randwick, she’s had a month to overcome it and travelled up there a couple of weeks ago, settled in fine.

“No small task but he form is probably every bit as good as most of the others at the top level.

“I see her back probably worse than mid-field and just hopefully she can get a suck on the back of something coming into the turn.

“If she’s got to go wide and do all the work it will be an impossible task but if she can get a suck on the back of something that will be her chance tomorrow on improving ground.

“She’ll be strong to the line.”

Bring Me The Maid returned to racing during the Spring Carnival for first-up success in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) on August 23rd, and other than a positive performance for fourth in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) on October 11th, failed to make much of a consistent impact over the five start campaign.

Allocated the slightly wide of centre barrier 9, Bring Me The Maid has been confirmed to be partnered by up-and-coming hoop Chad Schofield and is currently rated a generous $11 chance for success in the 2015 BTC Cup with Ladbrokes.com.au.
