Actuariat Tops 2015 Adelaide Guineas Nominations

This weekend in Adelaide South Australian Derby Day lights up Morphettville Racecourse with a host of black type features on the program including the Adelaide Guineas 2015, nominations for which feature the Greg Eurell-trained Actuariat.

Cranbourne-based Domesday gelding Actuariat sits number one on the ballot for Saturday’s $80,000 Listed Adelaide Galvanising Adelaide Guineas (1600m), which drew 23 nominations on Monday.

Boasting an impressive record so far of three wins and two seconds from six career starts, the galloper won over 1400m at Flemington on April 11 before his maiden run in South Australia on April 25.

At Morphettville Parks he finished runner-up to Japhils in the listed Nitschke Stakes (1400m), an effort he will be out to improve on if stepped up to the mile for the first time in the Guineas.

Eurell has also nominated for Reset gelding Kapset who ran a disappointing 10th at Flemington on Anzac Day last time out.

The other notable Adelaide Guineas nominee coming out of the Nitschke Stakes meanwhile is the fourth placed Pepper The Pin prepared by local training duo Leon Macdonald & Andrew Gluyas.

A son of Good Journey, Pepper The Pin improved on a Port Adelaide Guineas eighth over 1800m when dropped back to 1400m in the Nitschke to run fourth, form he can build on when racing over a distance between those two races – 1600m.

Along with the highly-rated Actuariat there is a host of other raiders nominated for the Adelaide Guineas this year including Ciaron Maher’s last start Flemington winner Duibo, Group 1 performed New Zealand raider Prima and the Lee & Anthony Freedman-trained Distant Rock who has winning form over the mile.

Some of the better fancied locals meanwhile include Magnus filly Regal Magnus prepared by Miracle Of Life’s former trainer Daniel Clarken and Ryan Balfour’s last start Murray Banks winning filly over the mile Ilovewhatsebrings.

The 2015 Adelaide Guineas final field and barriers are due out on Wednesday morning so stay tuned.

In the meantime take five minutes to open your account with who will be offering all the best race markets for Saturday and who offer up to $250 in bonus bets for first-time depositing players.
