First Seal stamped herself as the most talented filly in Australia when she recoded a dominant victory in the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival, but she has recorded just one win from three race starts this preparation.

The Fastnet Rock filly started her autumn campaign with a second place finish behind Surpass in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on February 14 before she returned to winning form in the Group 2 Surround Stakes (1400m) at Warwick Farm on February 28.

First Seal went into the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) as an odds-on favourite, but she was caught wide throughout the race and she tired late to finish a close second behind Plucky Belle.

Connections were not happy with the ride of jockey Blake Shinn and they elected to take the talented hoop off the three-year-old, with James McDonald set to take the ride in The BMW.

Another Group 1 winner that has been included in the 2015 Vinery Stud Stakes nominations is Ciaron Maher-trained Set Square, who will be having her first start at Group 1 level since he scored a tough staying victory in the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m) at Flemington on November 6.

Set Square started his 2015 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival campaign with a fast-finishing second behind Sweet And Speedy in the Group 3 The Vanity (1400m) at Flemington on February 21 and she was far from disgraced when third behind the talented Noble Protector in the Group 3 Schweppervescence Trophy (1600m) at Flemington on March 14.

The other Group 1 winner that has been included in the 2015 Vinery Stud Stakes nominations is Chris Waller-trained Amicus.

Amicus scored an upset win in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival and she has performed fairly without winning in her three race starts to date this preparation; finishing ninth in the Light Fingers Stakes, fourth in the Surround Stakes and fourth in the Coolmore Stud Stakes.

She is joined in the 2015 Vinery Stud Stakes nominations by stablemate Winx, who will be taking winning form into the Vinery Stud Stakes this weekend.

Winx produced fair performances in the Light Fingers Stakes and Surround Stakes, but she returned to the sort of form that she exhibited during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival when she was far too good for a fair field in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 14.

Thunder Lady finished second behind First Seal in the Crown Oaks and the John Sargent-trained filly will have the opportunity to turn-the-tables on her rival in the Vinery Stud Stakes.

The Mastercraftsman filly was outpaced when she finished 12th behind Hallowed Crown in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on February 21 and she produced an improved performance in the Group 3 Keith Nolan Classic (1600m) at Kembla Grange on March 13 and will appreciate the step-up in trip in the Vinery Stud Stakes.

Arianne, Ballet Suite, Fenway, Gust Of Wind, Maastricht, Slightly Sweet, Sweet And Speedy, Wine Tales, Wildenstein and Zarazli have also been included in the 2015 Vinery Stud Stakes nominations.
