It’ll be a cooler day at the Sydney track with temperatures not expected to reach higher than 26 degress (2:00pm). It’ll be partly cloudy with 44 percent humidity and winds of 11 km/h.

Rosehill Track Report – 14/03/2015

  • Rail Position: True
  • Track Condition: Soft 6
  • Weather: Overcast
  • Penetrometer: 32

The racing at Rosehill kicks off with a Benchmark 80 running over 1500m at 12:20pm and concludes with the Group 2 Ajax Stakes (1500m) at 5:30pm.

Nestled between these two races is the Coolmore Classic at 4:10pm with prize money totaling $600,000. First Seal is the $1.85 odds-on favourite to win the race in the betting at Ladbrokes.com.au and is in fact the only single figure hopeful.

The John Thompson-trained filly will face a wide start from barrier 11 with Blake Shinn to ride but this hasn’t shied punters away thanks to her recent form. First Seal resumed for a runner-up placings in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) on February 14 before strongly winning the Group 2 Surround Stakes (1400m) two weeks later.

So far there are a total of five scratchings across the day’s races. Check out the full details below.
