2015 Queen Elizabeth Stakes First Acceptances Released

The 2015 Queen Elizabeth Stakes first acceptances have been released and 65 talented gallopers remain a chance of contesting the Group 1 event at Royal Randwick on April 11.

The Queen Elizabeth Stakes is shaping up to be the grand final for a number of talented gallopers and some horses that have already won Group 1 events during the 2015 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival could clash in the race.

Contributer started his 2015 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival preparation with a fast-finishing victory in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on February 14 and he proved that win was no fluke when he took out the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm on February 28.

He could be joined in the 2015 Queen Elizabeth Stakes by stablemates Hartnell, It’s Somewhat, San Diego and Sweynesse, who have already been included in the first acceptances for the Group 1 event.

You can find the best odds for Contributer or any other horses in the 2015 Queen Elizabeth Stakes betting market with Ladbrokes.com.au.

Another horse that has already won a Group 1 this preparation is Cosmic Endeavour and she remains an outside chance of contesting the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Cosmic Endeavour started her autumn campaign with promising performances in the Group 3 Triscay Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on February 28 and the Group 3 Guy Walter Stakes (1400m) at Warwick Farm on February 28 before she returned to winning form in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

The Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) is expected to be the next major target for Cosmic Endeavour, but there is a chance she could back-up in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes if she performs well a week earlier.

First Seal has been one of the star performers of the autumn to date and she is another horse that could run in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes depending on how she performs for the rest of her autumn campaign.

The daughter of Fastnet Rock will make her debut against older horses in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday and if she wins will run in the Doncaster Mile before potentially backing up in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

One of the most interesting horses in the 2015 Queen Elizabeth Stakes first acceptances is Coolmore-owned entire Adelaide, who has not been seen at the races since his memorable win in the 2015 edition of the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival.

Adelaide has joined the Chris Waller stable and his new trainer is yet to confirm when the four-year-old will return to racing and there is speculation that he could go into the Queen Elizabeth Stakes first-up.

Waller won the 2013 edition of the Queen Elizabeth Stakes with Reliable Man and he could have Beaten Up, Foreteller, Hawkspur, He’s Your Man, I’m Imposing, Junoob, Moriarty, Preferment, Royal Descent, Sacred Falls, Weary and Who Shot Thebarman joining Adelaide in the Group 1 event.

Other notable horses in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes first acceptances include talented mare Arabian Gold, Hong Kong Vase winner Dominant, four-time Group 1 winner Dissident, Royal Randwick Guineas winner Hallowed Crown, popular gelding Happy Trails, Australian Derby winner Criterion and talented colt Shooting To Win.

The 2015 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival has started off with a bang and you can find the best odds for all the major races that remain with leading online bookmaker Ladbrokes.com.au.
