2015 Talindert Stakes Nominations Feature Stay With Me

Highly-spruiked but as yet unraced filly Stay With Me could make her debut on Black Caviar Lightning Stakes Day this Saturday after being nominated for the Talindert Stakes 2015 on the Flemington program.

One of four black type features at the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival meeting, this year’s $120,000 Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m) attracted a total of 22 two-year-olds, half of which are yet to have a start.

Of the possible debutants there has been plenty of hype over the impeccably Street Cry filly Stay With Me.

Stablemate of the unraced Stay With Me, whose out of 2006 Golden Slipper winner Miss Finland, Magic Millions Classic failure Miss Idyllic also representing the stable.

As for those with a previous start, one of the headliners is the Danny O’Brien-trained Ragazzo Del Corsa.

The Stratum colt ran third to one time Blue Diamond Stakes favourite Secret Agenda, out for three months with a leg injury sustained in the BD Fillies Prelude last weekend, at Moonee Valley on December 12.

He then franked the form of that race with a next-up victory over 1000m at Flemington on January 10 defeating subsequent Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude fourth placegetter Helsingor by two lengths.

Of the Talindert Stakes entries that are nominated for the $1 million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 28, the shortest-priced in the Ladbrokes.com.au markets that are firmly led by the Fillies Preview – Prelude double winner Fontiton ($2.60) is the third Hayes & Dabernig entry into the race Claudia Jean.

Paying $26 in Blue Diamond futures betting, Not A Single Doubt filly Claudia Jean won her debut down the 1000m at Flemington on December 20 before a seventh to upset winner Le Chef in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast last month.

She’s back at Flemington for her third run and should be improving on her last start.

Other key Talindert Stakes nominations include Gai Waterhouse’s Hinchinbrook gelding Brooklyn who ran third to Thurlow in the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes (1000m) a fortnight ago, Ciaron Maher’s Inglis 2YO Premier third placegetter Jameka and Flemington winner from last month Take Pride out to improve on a 12th to Fontiton in the BD Fillies Preview on Australia Day.

See below for the full list of nominees and stay tuned for the official Black Caviar Lightning Stakes Day race fields out on Wednesday.
