The two-year-old daughter of Not A Single Doubt is currently battling for top spot in the markets for the $1 million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m), running at Caulfield Racecourse on February 28, with fellow filly Fontiton.

Six length winner of the Inglis Banner last October, Robert Smerdon’s striking black Turffontein filly Fontiton secured favouritisim in the Blue Diamond Stakes futures odds with her stretching win in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Fillies Preview (1000m) on Australia Day.

At $4.60 she is followed very closely by Price’s up-and-comer, the also undefeated Secret Agenda paying $4.80 to win.

Who will start favourite in the Blue Diamond Stakes next month will officially be decided on February 14 however with Fontition and Secret Agenda both confirmed runners in the $200,000 Group 2 Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude (1100m) at Caulfield a fortnight before the big test.

Secret Agenda debuted at Moonee Valley on December 12 with an effortless three and a half-length victory over the David Hayes & Tom Dabernig-trained More Than Ready filly Haybah, who went on to win at Ballarat on January 8 and then finish a quarter-length second to Fontiton in the BD Preview, over 1000m.

She impressed with an 800m hit-out on Wednesday morning showing good natural speed without being really tested in the run to the line.

Price told Sky Sports Radio on Friday morning he was extremely happy with how she pulled up post-trial and was looking forward to her run in the Prelude.

“She’s going great, really happy with her,” he said.

He said that opting to send her for a freshen-up after her debut was the right move as it has kept her fresh ahead of her Blue Diamond bid.

“We didn’t put the horse out that was on the way down,” he said.

“We put her out at the right time to make sure there was plenty of petrol in the tank for the Blue Diamond.”

Leading into the Prelude Price will trial Secret Agenda at Caulfield next Tuesday morning to help get her fitness up ahead of her clash with Fontiton.

“She’ll trial at Caulfield on Tuesday here then Saturday week into the 1100 (Prelude),” he confirmed.

“She’s great and I think she’s improved a little bit.

“The form’s good around her and I’m looking forward to her coming back.

“If she runs well in the Prelude it bodes well for the Blue Diamond.”

Price also said that while she lead all-the-way on debut driving through to take the lead early and setting a generous pace, she could be ridden a little quieter next start.

“Damien (Oliver) was of the opinion if you take a little sit on her she will be a little better,” he said.

“She showed a bit of quality though. In the first 600m in that race (her debut) she was burning along.”
