She’s Clean Tops 2015 Belle Of The Turf Stakes Final Field

The Group 3 Belle Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) is the feature race running at Gosford Racecourse this Friday with 10 fillies and mares set to tackle the mile following Wednesday’s acceptances.

Top Sydney trainer Chris Waller will deliver a dual-pronged attack on the race after accepting with both She’s Clean and Mamwaazel.

Six-year-old mare She’s Clean is the headliner of the field after finding her share of success in 2013. However the mare has not won a race since the Listed June Stakes (1200m) in June that year despite having more than 15 starts.

She’s Clean will return to black-type racing on Friday after running in three consecutive Benchmark 90 races since the end of November. The mare will jump from barrier four with Hugh Bowman to ride.

While four-year-old mare Mamwaazel debuted in black-type races at the beginning of 2013, she has failed to return to the distinguished races after finishing midfield in both the Listed Widden Stakes (1100m) and Listed Woodlands Stakes (1100m).

Yet after finishing runner-up in back-to-back Benchmark 80 races in December she will return in the 2015 Belle Of The Turf Stakes.

Mamwaazel will jump from barrier six with Glyn Schofield in the saddle.

The Anthony Cummings-trained Mary Lou has scored the inside jump from barrier one with Jason Collett to ride.

The lightly raced mare won her maiden in the NJC.com.au Plate (1850m) back in May after six attempts. Yet as soon as she scored her first victory, Mary Lou was sidelined for just under eight months due to injury.

The four-year-old returned to the track in a Benchmark 70 over 1400m at Royal Randwick on December 26, which she comfortably won by nearly two lengths.

Gerald Ryan’s Peace Force has finished in the first three in eight of his nine career starts include three consecutive wins last time out. The five-year-old mare will debut in black-type racing on Saturday after dominating benchmark races over the past year.

With Brenton Avdulla in the saddle, Peace Force will jump from barrier three.

Clarry ConnersFare Well will jump from barrier five after just missing out on placings in both the Listed Starlight Stakes (1100m) and Listed Razor Sharp (1200m) while Peter & Paul Snowden’s Commanding Wit will jump from barrier seven.
