The sole Group race of Gosford Cup Day, this year’s $125,000 Group 3 Gosford RSL Belle Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) attracted 12 early entries with nominations extended until 11am (AEDT) on Tuesday morning.

Of the current dozen in the mix for the mile showdown, three come from the Sydney Trainer Premiership dominating stables of Waller who has entered the returning Gosh, in-form Mamwaazel and She’s Clean who is the top-rated hope.

European import Gosh is a Peintre Celebre five-year-old debuting down under following two trials in December.

Lightly-raced with just nine starts for three wins to date, she was twice Group 3 performed in France for a third in the Prix Minerve over 2500m in August 2013 and a last start fourth behind Spiritjim in the Prix D’Hedouville (2400m) at Longchamp in early May last year.

Her latest trial was a disappointing eighth over 1030m at Rosehill on the 23rd of last month, but that was obviously over an unsuitable distance for the genuine staying type who has never raced over anything less than the 1900m she won over on debut in December of 2012.

Mamwaazel meanwhile comes off back-to-back seconds from December over 1400m at Randwick and then 1550m at Canterbury on the 27th.

She was beaten only a nose by Peace Force last start carrying 59kg and with a good weight can be competitive again in her black-type debut.

The third stablemate She’s Clean also comes off a couple of good runs, most recently finishing a length away fourth behind Calming Influence in the George Watson Handicap (1400m) at Flemington on New Year’s Day.

There are two last stat winners nominated for the race this year with the Anthony Cummings-trained Mary Lou and the flying Peace Force for Gerald Ryan.

Fastnet Rock four-year-old Mary Lou won over 1850m at Newcastle during the winter before spelling and returning at Randwick on Boxing Day for a tidy one and three-quarter length win over Passionflower in the Sportsyear Handicap (1400m).

Peace Force has string together three on the trot, the five-year-old daughter of Bernardini last seen beating home Waller’s aforementioned Mamwaazel in the Irresistible Pools & Spas Handicap (1550m) at Canterbury on December 27.

The only other nominee coming off a top three run is the lowest-rated of the entries, Mark Schmetzer’s Buffalo Chase who ran second to Classic Vinegar in a Benchmark 60 over 1400m at Newcastle on December 26.

Other more notable hopes including the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Commanding Wit and Group 1 performed Myamira for Scone’s Rodney Northam.
