An exciting nine race card has been confirmed for 2015 Turnbull Stakes Day at Flemington Racecourse this afternoon, all of which will be contested at black type level and highlighted by the Group 1 feature race contested over 2000m.

It is a fine day in Melbourne today and the Flemington racing surface has been rated a Good 4 as a result.

2015 Turnbull Stakes Day will officially get underway with the running of the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes (1000m) for two-year-olds at 12:30pm local time and will culminate in the Listed Paris Lane Stakes (1400m) at 5:25pm.

The Turnbull Stakes has drawn a particularly talented field of fifteen runners in 2015; highlighted by the inclusion of several previous winners at the highest level of Australian racing.

The scratching of leading contender Alpine Eagle has more than opened the race from a betting standpoint, however there is still plenty of class via the likes of Happy Trails, Hartnell, Who Shot Thebarman and Rising Romance.

Three Group 2 races will also be contested in the Gilgai Stakes (1200m), Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) and Blazer Stakes (1600m), while the winner of race 6; the Group 3 Bart Cummings (2520m) will gain ballot-free entry into the 2015 Melbourne Cup.
