The Listed Christmas Handicap (1400m) is the feature race at Morphettville, with 21 middle distance horses nominating for the race on Monday morning.

Headlining the field is the Gary Kennewell-trained Coservatorium who finished third in the Roadside Services & Solutions Handicap (1000m) first up this campaign on November 22 before finishing fourth in the Listed City Of Marion Stakes (1200m) on December 6.

Lloyd Kennewell meanwhile has nominated five horses for the race – Class 2 Handicap runner-up California King, Morphettville Handicap winner Fastcar, lightly run Khamsa, Midnight Song, and Roadside Services & Solutions Handicap runner-up Thiamandi.

John MacMillan has nominated Boristar for the 2014 Christmas Handicap. The five-year-old gelding has finished in the first two in four of his past five career starts, including three wins. Boristar won both the Gawler Cup (1500m) and a Benchmark 90 over 1400m this campaign before finishing runner-up in the Emirates Airline Handicap (1400m) last time out.

Danielle Wilson’s six-year-old gelding Whitlam won the Listed City Of Marion Stakes (1200m) on December 6 after finding himself disqualified from the Listed WH Wylie Handicap (1100m) and finishing dead last in the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint (1100m) during the spring carnival in Melbourne.

Other notable nominess include City Of Marion Stakes minor placer Exodus, Mildura Cup (1400m) runner-up Rebel Truce, Darley Handicap (1200m) winner Streetcar Valour, and Sportingbet Handicap (1550m) winner Ustinov’s Fury.
