The three-year-old daughter of Stratum is one of nine remaining youngsters in the mix for this year’s $100,000 Wyong Magic Millions 3YO Stakes (1200m) following the early scratching of the Gerald Ryan-trained Tetsuko who was drawn in barrier two.

Due to jump from that alley now is Echo Gal with Tommy Berry riding the Group 1 performed filly who sits top of a very tight Wyong Magic Millions Stakes betting market at Ladbrokes.com.au paying $3.

A three-time winner from her nine previous runs, Echo Gal hasn’t raced since the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick back on October 4 when six lengths off the winner First Seal.

Since then she’s had an official trial at the same track over 1050m when beating home Whitten’s Delight by over a length to tighten-up for this.

All going well on Thursday and Echo Gal will be off to the Gold Coast on January 10 for a shot at the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m).

In futures odds at Ladbrokes.com.au for that Queensland summer feature she’s paying $7 as the second elect behind Hijack Hussy ($5).

Five of her eight rivals are also under double-figures to win the Wyong lead-up tomorrow however including the rails-drawn second pick Choice We Had ($4).

Peter & Paul Snowden’s Choisir colt won a three-year-olds’ handicap over 1350m at Doomben back in August before resuming at Newcastle on December 6 for another victory this time on a Soft (5) track over Merry Christmas that he’ll look to emulate here.

Occupying the third and fourth lines of the Wyong Magic Millions 3YO Stakes odds are then the undefeated Murt The Flirt ($5.50) and Cyclone ($6.50).

Local jockey Brenton Avdulla has the ride on Brendan McCarthy’s visiting Victorian Murt The Flirt, the Murtajill gelding having won on debut with Chris Symons in the saddle for a one length victory on November 22 in the Ballarat Magic Millions 3YO Classic.

Cyclone meanwhile is a Bjorn Baker-trained son of Sebring who won at Canterbury back in October but has been unplaced in his two runs since.

The other single figure hopes are then Ryan’s remaining hopeful Aerobar ($8.50) and Queen Of Kariba ($9) for the now Sydney-based John Sargent.
