The Zizou two-year-old is one of a dozen juveniles making up the field for this year’s $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1100m).

The sprint showdown makes a nice lead-up race for young hopefuls heading towards the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast Racecourse on January 10.

Having his second career start this week, Zoutenant is the shortest priced of the Wyong hopes in the futures markets for the 2015 Magic Millions 2YO Classic in Queensland through Ladbrokes.com.au.

After a nice second on debut behind Voilier at Rosehill on December 6 in the $85,000 Sire Custodians Plate (1100m), the up-and-comer pays $15 in markets led by the undefeated Wicked Intent ($3.60).

He gets the chance to secure his Gold Coast bid on Thursday then with a win at Wyong from barrier two with Glyn Schofield in the saddle.

The next best in the all-in Gold Coast Magic Millions Classic betting having a Wyong lead-up is then Single Gaze paying $19.

The Nick Olive-trained Not A Single Doubt filly has her work cut out for her on Thursday having drawn the outside barrier (12) with Kathy O’Hara to ride.

She is the only one in the field with a previous win however after O’Hara rode her to a one length victory over Zulu Royal at Rosehill on November 1 in the $85,000 CFMEU/West Tradies Plate (1100m) as the $81 roughie shot.

Debutants on Thursday Surf Seeker and Perignon then both pay $21 to win the Gold Coast’s $2 million Classic next month after a first-up run at Wyong.

The Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes-trained Surf Seeker is also drawn wide with barrier 11 to overcome and James McDonald booked to ride the Wanted colt.

He comes into the race on the back of an official Warwick Farm trial from December 9 when second to Bosnia, connections hoping that experience can help him out in his maiden run.

Gerald Ryan’s Snitzel filly Perignon also comes off a second from those same trials, her hit-out over just 740m, and has come up trumps with barrier four for jockey Kerrin McEvoy this week.

Ryan is also represented in the Wyong Magic Millions Classic field by the unraced Triple Charged in barrier seven for Jim Cassidy.

Other notable Gold Coat Magic Millions 2YO Classic-bound youngster’s in Thursday’s lead-up race then include David Payne’s Testa Rossa colt Trust My Luck coming off a fourth on debut at Rosehill from November 29, the Gai Waterhouse-trained Chloe’s Comet in gate 10 for Tommy Berry and Moral Outrage last seen running third to Gold Coast Magic Millions Classic third favourite ($9) Carriages at Ballarat in November.
