Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
The Listed Just Now Quality (1300m) is one of five black-type races running at Doomben Racecourse this Saturday with a full field of 16 mares and fillies accepting for the race. However the David Lawlor-trained Rosey Joan has already been scratched from the race after drawing barrier 15.
Headliner Tinto will jump from the advantageous barrier three with jockey Bridget Grylls who may make a claim to get the four-year-olds top weight brought down.
The Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) winner back in May proved she is just as successful as a sprinter after finishing just half a length behind Listed Travel Associates Classic (1200m) winner Brook Road in second place on Saturday. Due to this the four-year-old has been allocated the top weight of 59.5kg, which is five kilograms heavier than the majority of her rivals.
The only two other runners carrying more than the minimum weight of 54kg are Discreet and Little Brown Horse. However they’ve gotten off lighter than Tinto, set to carry just half a kilogram more than the minimum weight.
The Kelly Schweida-trained Discreet will have to overcome a start from barrier 10 with Chris Munce in the saddle while Kelly Doughty’s Little Brown Horse will jump from barrier five with Jeff Lloyd in the saddle, the same barrier the mare jumped from when he finished seventh in the Travel Associates Classic last time out.
Todd Austin’s Playtime has scored the inside run from barrier one with Ric McMahon in the saddle while Toby Edmonds’ Glenbawn Dame will have to overcome a start from the widest barrier.
Playtime has finished first, second, third, and fourth his last four times out after failing to finish in the Tambo Cup (1400m) on May 31. He won the Newmarket Open Handicap (1300m) on July 3 and finished just over half a length off the win in third place in the Travel Associates Classic, his only start this campaign.
Four-year-old mare Glenbawn Dame was third her last time out in the No Metro Wins Handicap (1110m) on November 22.
Peter & Paul Snowden’s Commanding Wit will jump from barrier seven with Larry Cassidy while the Brian Smith-trained Elusive Storm will jump from barrier nine with Samuel Payne to ride.
